FAQs

Where can I buy your work?

Thank you so much for being interested in my work! I am currently focusing more on in person markets. Please check the market schedule page for any upcoming vending Ill be doing.

Why do you make this type of art?

Ceramics holds such a special space in my heart for many reasons. My brain tends to bounce around from thing to thing but it has stuck hard on clay. Ceramics is a big vast field of information as you start to delve into it. There is always something new to learn or a new form to make that will push my skills. Sitting behind my wheel can be a place of healing for me and making things is part of my self exploration journey.

How do you make your work?

There are many different ways of taking clay into a final form but my personal favorite is throwing on the wheel. To watch a vessel go from ball of clay and slowly be pulled up into a mug or bowl is incredibly satisfying. All of my work is currently made from stoneware, glazed, and fired to cone 6 in electric kilns.

What does your artwork represent?

More than anything I want my artwork to represent the deep love I have for exploring this craft. I want to explore all the paths I can within this medium and within this life. One of my fears in life is stagnation and lack of growth. This life is funny wild thing and to only know a small portion of it would be a shame. I hope to stretch and grow and add many facets to myself and my art while enjoying the ride. Ceramics is a very spiritual personal thing for me. I don’t deny myself my fascinations when it come to what I make. In the simplest of terms my art represents my exploration of self and an unwavering lust for knowing new things.

Do you do custom work?

Yes! I do sometimes do custom orders. My commissions are currently closed. The later half of the year is spent on making inventory for the multiple holiday markets I participate in. My commissions open typically in the beginning of the year. Check back here or on my instagram to see if I’m currently open for custom work.

What inspires you?

I draw inspiration from nature, from space, from newness, and from tradition. Lots of things! I have always had a deep fascination with anything “science” related with my main babe being everything to do with space. Carl Sagan was a childhood hero of mine (so much so my first tattoo was one of his quotes!) and through his show The Cosmo I gained a deep love and fasciation for our universe. I love learning about space, mushrooms, the environment, marco worlds, and micro worlds. From slime mold to stars, once I hyper-fixate on a subject I just want to know everything I can! Ceramics fits beautifully into this lust for knowing because it has both “cooking” and “baking” qualities. “Cooking” qualities are those that can be winged. You know the ones where you season from the heart? The ones that you can go “I wonder what this would do?”. The “baking” qualities are the ones that are more strict. These are the qualities where you defer to past knowledge and follow well tested and proved guidelines on the process. This craft never gets old for me because everyday can be a exploration into something new.
